We are very excited to announce that Something for Kate will travel to Dallas, Texas to record their brand new album with U.S producer John Congleton. ( Explosions in the Sky, The Walkmen, St Vincent, Okkervil River ) The album, which is yet to be titled, is expected to be released later in the year.
The band will be blogging from the the studio here on somethingforkate.com, posting snippets of what they’re working on plus posting photos on their instagram account and generally keeping you up to date with progress on the album.

After touring solidly for his 2009 solo album, Something for Kate’s Paul Dempsey returned to Australia some months ago to begin work on the new Something for Kate album with bandmates Stephanie Ashworth & Clint Hyndman. The album will be the 6th studio album for the band and will be the first release since 2008’s Murmur Years – the Best of Something for Kate 1996-2007.

The three have been working away in the studio in Melbourne writing and recording demos, for the new record which is set for release in 2012. As the writing period nears completion, details will soon be announced  regarding the album recording.

Very soon we’ll be launching the new somethingforkate.com and while that’s being constructed we’ll have a temporary blog kinda thing which will keep you up to date with what’s going on with the new SFK record, photos from the studio and all the news as the band get ready to record the album.
