SFK ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF "THE MURMUR YEARS" & NATIONAL TOUR – TIX ON SALE NOW

SFK are very excited to announce the release of ‘THE MURMUR YEARS’, a retrospective double album that documents a detailed collection of SFK tracks spanning over 10 years of the band’s career so far from 1996- 2007.

Featuring over 33 songs and a brand new track titled ‘The Futurist’ , THE MURMUR YEARS is released in stores August 18th.

To celebrate the release of THE MURMUR YEARS, SFK will embark on a national tour titled “The Murmur Tour” Tickets are on sale now at Oztix

SFK iTUNES ‘ORIGINALS’ OUT NOW! TRACKLISTNG REVEALED!

SFK were invited to record an exclusive iTunes Original Session. They chose their favorite tracks and captured them live in the studio then spoke about them candidly. The tracklisting, features a live solo version of ‘Strategy’ on piano, a blistering version of new song,’Cassandra Walks the Plank’, a new version of ‘Down the Garden Path’, great live versions of ‘Deja vu’ and ‘Transparanoia’ never before available and the list goes on….

Something for Kate go AWOL

The Australian Way of Life … What is it? Is there something that unifies Australians living 6,000 km apart? What do young people at the top end of the NT have in common with young people at the top end of Tassie? Well, triple j is taking off around the country to shine the spotlight on 4 different regional towns… and Something for Kate will be taking part in the first event on 21st July in Humpty Doo (NT).

The band will play live alongside Missy Higgins and Blue King Brown and the concert will be broadcast live on triple j, with jtv delivering video online from the venue as it happens and the complete gig on ABC TV. For more info go to www.triplej.net.au/awol

Something for Kate will release their first ever digital single for download today. ‘California’ features previously unreleased songs ‘Cassandra Walks the Plank’ and ‘Oh Kamikaze’ (T-Rek remix) plus if you purchase the single via iTunes you’ll get the exclusive SFK cover of The Clash’s ‘Rock The Casbah’!

Something for Kate’s first ever digital single, ‘California’, is available for download today!

The single ‘California’ has been mixed for this release by Matt Lovell and includes previously unreleased new songs ‘Cassandra Walks the Plank’ and ‘Oh Kamikaze’ – T-Rek remix.

Plus if you purchase your copy of ‘California’ through iTunes you’ll get a bonus track – a cover of The Clash’s ‘Rock The Casbah’ recorded by SFK in their Melbourne rehearsal room.

‘California’ is the third single from their # 1, Gold certified album ‘Desert Lights’ and has only been available digitally via iTunes Music Store (where it is currently Top 5 on the ‘Albums’ chart) and now you can grab it via other digital music stores such as Bigpond Music, ninemsn and JB Hi Fi online.

Something for Kate recently picked up an ARIA Number #1’s Chart Award in recognition of their #1 album ‘Desert Lights’ and since then they’ve been busy touring around the country since playing the national Big Day Out tour. The new SFK single, ‘California’ has just been released as a digital only release. It is now available on iTunes with 3 b-sides including the exclusive-to-iTunes track SFK’s cover of The Clash’s, ‘Rock The Casbah’. The single bundle will then be available elsewhere from Tue 20th March with two b-side tracks via online music retailers such as Bigpond Music, ninemsn & JB Hi Fi online. Note – ‘Rock the Casbah’ will only be available through iTunes.

Late in 2006 Something for Kate were asked to contribute a song to the new Cold Chisel covers record, ‘Standing on the Outside’ and so the band recently went into the studio and recorded their version of ‘When The War is Over’.
